Sampur lands returned to owners

Under the concept of the President Maithripala Sirisena, steps have been taken to hand over the lands held by security forces in Northern and Eastern provinces to their owners. Accordingly, the official handing over 177 acres of land to Eastern Province Governor Austin Fernando was held yesterday.  The event was participated by Opposition Leader R. Sambandan, Prison Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs Minister D.M. Swaminathan, Defence Ministry Secretary Karunasena Hettiarachchi and Navy Commander Ravindra Wijegunaratne.
