The medical faculty of Wayamba University was declared open by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Kuliyapitiya yesterday where the government announced the move to open branches of leading local state universities in the Maldives. There are no worldwide leading universities in Sri Lanka and leading local state universities means nothing.

Hope all agreements and policies are in tact and see that politics don't get mixed up with Higher Education. Also experienced educated authorities handle it and also see that the bright qualified students are not taken for a joy ride.
