A number of business entities including restaurants, clothing stores and a mosque were destroyed by unruly mobs in Minuwangoda on Monday. People, including the proprietors of the shops, were seen visiting the destroyed establishments today and trying to figure out how to revive them. Pix by Pradeep Pathirana

I think the government needs to give full funding to renovate these damaged buildings. That should teach a lesson to those who barely survive the day and just goes rioting!

Disgusting! Same thing happened in 1983. LTTE set off a landmine in the north and monsters started killing Tamils in Colombo. Sri Lanka has not learnt anything. The one thing in common is that, the UNP was in power on both occasions.

The innocent people’s dwellings and businesses were torched or damaged in the name of what?, Revenge? There is no difference between these criminals and the Easter bombers! The State must act to protect all Sri Lankan’s and compensate these innocent victims.
