    when we lived in the area N'Elya, Agras area my grand father and father planted many fruit trees and apple was one of them. Had plenty of apples as well. So nothing new.............If one has the will to plant and nurture a crop, anything is possible in that climate.....

    This is nothing new. Apple could grow in Ambewela, Hagggala, Nuwara-Eliya , Nanu-Oya, Hputale, and Agarapathan. But not in commercial scale.
