National Development Bank PLC (NDB) has continued to support build the nation by encouraging every Sri Lankan parent to make education the best gift for their child. This year NDB Shilpa will recognize the accomplishment of the first top five island rankers with a token of Rs.100,000 each, the next five island rankers with Rs.50,000 and Rs.5000 for any student who gains more than 180 points at this year’s scholarship examination. Last year too, NDB carried out a similar campaign and witnessed a tremendous success.
NDB Shilpa, a versatile solution to help build the dreams of the aspiring younger generation of the country, joined hands as the main sponsor for a series of educational programmes initiated by Sirasa FM and Imashi Publications. These seminars have been conducted for the past years in a view to support little ones who are preparing themselves for the Year 5 Scholarship Examination. Both programmes are carried out by an eminent panel of lecturers who carry a wealth of experience and expertise in the field of education.
Ten mega programmes with Sirasa FM and 50 programmes with Imashi Publications will be covering most regions across the country and will be approaching the masses targeting all scholarship students with informative sessions including study tips and preparation guidelines for the upcoming examination. The seminars will comprise of segments focused for children and parents separately. The parents will be educated on how to prepare their children and positively support them towards achievement. Each seminar will comprise of 500 – 700 students.
The Year 5 scholarship exam is perceived as a landmark hurdle by students and parents alike. Since the examination opens doors to students to qualify to enter esteemed national schools; it has become one of the most competitive examinations faced by students. Having recognized such prominence placed on the examination NDB Shilpa is delighted to support these two endevours.
