Ranil ensures tourism development benefits to SMEs

The government will take into consideration the aspirations of the small and medium sector (SMEs) when devising plans to develop the tourism sector, Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said on Saturday.

Wickremeisnghe during the inauguration of the Food Festival in Galle said the tourism sector will be developed in a manner to ensure benefits to the SME sector. He added that he will discuss the matter with the subject minister soon.

The Prime Minister said the government will focus on Galle and Matara districts when it comes to tourism, as the sector in these two districts have been neglected in then recent past. According to the Prime Minister, several tourism sector events are to be held in the Southern region in the near future.
