WorkInSriLanka (WISL) will be holding a Quarterly Meet-Up on July 5, 2016 at the Asylum Restaurant and Lounge Bar.

This is a networking event, exclusively for professionals who have recently moved to Sri Lanka or those who are thinking of moving in the near future. It will be an ideal place to discuss the opportunities and challenges of living in Sri Lanka, while connecting with industry representatives.
WISL has conducted three successful annual conferences along with several Quarterly Meetups since its launch in May 2013. Established as a volunteer-run brain-gain initiative, WISL offers comprehensive information on careers, living, education, housing and visa requirements for the Sri Lankan expat community as well as non-Sri Lankans through its website and actively engages with them through informal forums such as the quarterly meetups.

The WISL conference in December 2015, held under the theme of ‘Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges’ brought together recent returnees, expats living in Sri Lanka, investors, and industry experts to discuss the opportunities and challenges in making Sri Lanka the world’s preferred work destination. The conference saw the participation of officials from the government and private sectors strategizing to build a stronger brain gain platform for the country. The event proved to be a great networking opportunity for companies and prospective candidates.

Launched in May 2013, the WorkInSriLanka project seeks to advocate Sri Lanka as an attractive destination for highly skilled individuals and high caliber businesses. WorkInSriLanka partners with entities such as the Employers Federation of Ceylon, Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, SLASSCOM and Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics Sri Lanka and liaises closely with large corporations who seek to employ experienced professionals.

A comprehensive portal (workinsrilanka.lk) is available to provide information on relocation and connect users with a variety of key industry bodies within the country. The portal facilitates the sharing of industry specific information that would help expats and migrants make informed decisions on working in Sri Lanka.
