Softlogic Retail (Pvt.) Ltd launched ‘Softlogic Prizm TV’, the company’s own brand of smart TV collection, at Waters Edge recently.
Described as the perfect embodiment of technological convergence between computers, television seats and set-top boxes, it offer facilities such as integrated Internet and includes web-enabled features.
The TVs are available in models such as smart, smart 4K and smart ready and in different sizes which will be in 24”, 32”, 40”, 43”, 50” and 55” sizes.
“This will go to the customer at a very attractive and very affordable price. Rural area customers also could access to buying this at easy payment schemes, probably the lowest which would be from Rs.1700-2000,” Softlogic Retail (Pvt.) Ltd Chief Executive Officer Nasser Majeed said.
“With MHL interface, it connects the smartphone to the television, for example in your smartphone you have lots of photographs but it is limited to a small screen, but with this you can connect to the television so the entire family could see the pictures,” he described about one of the features of the TV.
Based on the HDMI and MHL interfaces it allows devices such as mobile phones, tablets, game consoles and other portable devices to be linked to it so that the TV screen acts as a large monitor, it was noted.
Further, it was mentioned that it also enables customers to upload social media apps such as Facebook, WhatsApp and FaceTime and use the TV as a viewing platform by plugging in mobile devices.
Majeed said that it is a special occasion for them as they are known for being the sole distributer for Panasonic and premium partner for Samsung and now they have their own brand with this launch.
“Softlogic could be considered as the trend setter in the retail industry in Sri Lanka. Softlogic retail group in the current year had an excellent performance and we have exceeded the total retail sector revenue growth by 50 percent. We will continue to grow steadily and rapidly,” Majeed said.
“Softlogic retail chain has expanded to more than 230 stores, in Colombo we have about 13-14, the trendiest stores in the country,” he added.
Talking about the price structure, Softlogic Retail (Pvt.) Ltd Head of Business Development Induka Perera said that the starting price will be Rs.22,990 going up to Rs.249,990.
“With the lowest monthly payment, we have very attractive higher purchasing schemes which are affordable for any consumer,” he said.
