Trade, services and co-operation between Sri Lanka and Singapore as well as inward investment is projected to increase significantly with the visit of Singapore’s Minister of Trade S. Iswaran this June. The minister will be accompanied by a high profile business delegation including potential investors to attend an event organized in Colombo by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and International Enterprise (IE), Singapore. The SBF is Singapore’s apex business chamber which represents over 22,000 companies while IE Singapore is the government agency driving the overseas growth of Singapore based companies and promoting international trade. The event titled ‘Sri Lanka Singapore Business Forum’ is scheduled to be held Wednesday, 01st of June, from 9.15 am onwards at the Hilton Colombo Residences, Colombo 02.
Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran and Board of Investment Chairman Upul Jayasuriya are expected to speak at the forum. Development Strategies and International Trade Minister Malik Samarawickrama will grace the occasion on behalf of the Sri Lankan government. The business delegation will comprise of representatives from various sectors such as exportled manufacturing, food processing /sourcing/ services, information technology/ business process outsourcing, hospitality and tourism related, education, logistics, oil & gas and chemicals, agricommodities trading, infrastructure solutions (waste/ water/utility management, building & construction related) etc. The business forum will be followed by one-to-one business meetings and a networking lunch with the delegation
