The MBA programme was founded in 1998 by the Postgraduate Institute of Agriculture of University of Peradeniya in collaboration with the University of Stirling, UK, supported by the Higher Education Link Programme of the British Council.
Peradeniya MBA places great emphasis on theoretical knowledge and research. The programme is thus considered an intellectually demanding qualification and one of the most prestigious MBAs in
Sri Lanka.
The programme provides a totally immersive learning experience to students. This MBA has also been recognized as equivalent to that of Western MBAs for migration and overseas employment purposes. It is remarkable that this status is enjoyed only by a handful of other Master’s programmes offered in Sri Lanka.
One of the key innovations in the Peradeniya MBA programme is the student-led MBA Association (MBAA), which significantly empowers students to have far-reaching impact and influence over the programme. In essence, the MBAA gives students the power and the real world exposure to develop, fund, and manage initiatives that can truly transform the MBA programme, and their professional lives.
It also organizes events that bring much needed entertainment to students and staff and has been involved with social service projects as well. It is not only about studies, it is also about performing together and gaining experience while relishing. MBA night is one such annual event.
MBA Association of University of Peradeniya is planning to host its annual calendar the ‘MBA Night’ in grand style. An event that adds more colour to the MBA programme with the key focus being the reinforcement of the relationship among lecturers, alumnus and students in an entertaining manner. It is a night that brings the past memories to present and facilitates an experience sharing and networking among the Alumnus and present students.
This time, MBA Night is all set to happen on the 19th of November at the Earl’s Regency Hotel, Kandy, 6.30pm onwards. This event will be graced by NissangaWarnapura (Chief Innovation Officer of Hela Clothing Co. Pvt. Ltd). The launch of the ‘Inspire’ magazine under the theme of ‘Headship through Innovation’, comprising articles of utmost value and substance, will be a notable feature at the function.
