Nestlé Lanka recently celebrated Avurudu with its staff at its head office premises, with the participation of Nestlé Lanka’s Managing Director Shivani Hegde.
The Avurudu activities commenced with the lighting of the oil lamp and the ‘kiri ithireema’, followed by Avurudu games and the traditional Avurudu breakfast.  The spirit of giving and receiving from those who are known or trusted, was followed by the employees with the tradition of ‘Ganu Denu’, at the water well and ‘gemi gedara’. The staff participated in a variety of Avurudu games, including ‘kana mutti’, ‘kotta pora’, coconut scraping contest, lime and spoon race, Nestomalt drinking contest, and ‘onchili pedima’.
