The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) has joined hands with the National Enterprise Development Authority (NEDA) for the second year in succession to conduct Entrepreneur Awards 2017 – Western Province, for the micro, small, medium and large sectors. Applications are now being issued by the chamber at the chamber secretariat, No: 450, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10. The closing date will be October 2, 2017. The grand award ceremony of Entrepreneur Awards 2017 – Western Province will be held on October 17, 2017, at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute, amidst a large gathering of business organisations, entrepreneurs, government representatives, etc. There will be around 20 awards to be presented to winners in the category of Industry/Manufacturing/Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Hospitality Tourism and Other Services.
The award winners will enjoy the following benefits: recognition from provincial and national levels, publicity and prestige through print and digital media, exposure and development of their businesses to a higher level and preferential assistance from the NEDA, chamber and other associated institutions.
This award scheme is designed to distinguish, reward and motivate Sri Lanka’s very own entrepreneurs to reach the mantle of achievement and encourage the business community in the Western Province to improve their standards of business practices and achieve a high level of entrepreneurship.
The NCC and NEDA have been assisting the micro, small medium and large sectors in the regions from a long period and gives special focus towards the upliftment of these sectors in the provinces to develop their businesses and conducts training programmes for them including the differently able entrepreneurs. The topmost prestigious award will be for Overall Enterprise Excellence (one award), Best Enterprise Awards (12) for each sector and Special Awards (six) for: Awards for Best Environmental Friendly Enterprise, Awards for Best Exporter, Awards for Best Productive Enterprise, Awards for Best Innovative Enterprise, Awards for Best Value-Added Enterprise and Awards for Best Energy-Efficiency Enterprise.
