JLanka recognized for intensive innovation and R&D with Flame Award

JLanka Technologies, the premier solar solution provider in Sri Lanka was awarded the Flame Entrepreneur Award 2016 in the Eco Business Category during a prestigious awards gala on last week, at Galle Face Hotel Colombo.  With renewed focus on reviving a culture of new thinking and risk-taking among Sri Lanka’s mid segment entrepreneurs, the Flame Entrepreneur Awards organized by the Western Province Council aims to positively impact long-term economic growth in Sri Lanka, boosting productivity and efficiency across entrepreneurial business ventures. 

JLanka, as a pioneer in the local energy industry, is investing heavily in providing innovative and sustainable energy solutions across the country. Driving a revolution of renewable energy consumption in Sri Lanka, the company has introduced numerous customized solar solutions to suit any type of consumer based on their financial feasibilities. As a novel concept, the company also introduced energy storage to the country, with rechargeable batteries that can be charged off-peak and utilized during peak times, reducing both consumer bills and the demand on the national electricity grid. During the last six years, JLanka’s solar installations have generated over 10MW of electricity. This power is inclusive in the company’s annual contribution of 13GW hours of energy to the Sri Lanka national grid. The number of bulbs powered by JLanka is a staggering 41,454,545. Additionally the company’s ecofriendly practices has seen over 18,000 trees and saplings planted across the island with 5,390 tons of CO2 emissions saved per year, making JLanka the deserving winner of the Flame Entrepreneur Award 2016 in the Eco Business Category. The credibility that the company has achieved is recognized and endorsed by most of the major commercial and state banks in the country, offering solar loans and credit card facilities for JLanka solar installations.
