SriLankan Catering yesterday announced the appointment of Mangala Wijesekera as Chief Executive Officer of SriLankan Catering, a subsidiary of SriLankan Airlines.
Wijesekera was the former Chief Operating Officer for overseas hotel operations of Aitken Spence Hotels Group and counts over 23 years of corporate experience in the hospitality industry in Sri Lanka and overseas.
He has extensive knowledge of the industry, project management, hotel management, finance, administration and property operations gained by working in different countries and with industry professionals in Sri Lanka, the Maldives, India and Oman.
He has a Bachelor’s degree in Science from the University of Colombo, a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Queensland, Australia, Master Certificate in Hospitality Management from the Cornell University, USA and has undergone Executive Training in International Management from Stanford Graduate School of Business, California and NUS Business School in Singapore.
