German Ambassador Joern Rhode will be the special guest speaker at a session on ‘Bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and Germany’ organised by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCC), on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the chamber auditorium, No: 450, D.R. Germany is the second largest importer and also the second largest exporter in the world and is the most populated country in Europe with around 81.7 million people.
It shares common borders with nine countries, which makes it the most important transit route within Europe, and today Germany is the most economically and politically strong country in Europe under Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Joachim Gauck.
