Sri Lanka Telecom PLC (SLT) Group CEO Dileepa Wijesundera has tendered his resignation this month to be effective from March 11, 2018.
SLT in a stock market filing said the director board is now in the process of searching for a new Group CEO.
“In the interim, the SLT Group will be led by the Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Group and the Executive Committee of the board supported by the senior management of the company,” SLT said.
Wijesundera assumed duties as the Group CEO of SLT on 9 March 2015.
Meanwhile, the resignation of SLT director Rohan De Silva was also announced along with Wijesundera’s. His resignation came into effect from December 19, 2017. Both Wijesundera and De Silva had no interest in SLT shares.
