The second edition of China Products (Colombo Sri Lanka) Exhibition 2016 was launched with a glamorous VIP opening ceremony that successfully connected more than 120 quality exhibitors from China with the business community in Sri Lanka.

China Products (Colombo, Sri Lanka) Exhibition 2016 was inaugurated by Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathiudeen while the ceremonial opening was graced by Guangdong Province People’s Government Deputy Secretary General Li Yiwei, China Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) Guangdong Committee President Lin Tao, Worldex Fiera Milano (Guangzhou) Exhibition Co. Ltd Managing Director Wolfgang, CMEC International Exhibition Co., Ltd Vice General Manager Wu Chupeng, National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) President Thilak Godamanna and WorldEx India Managing Director Rajesh Bhagat. Many distinguish guests representing leading trade bodies from Sri Lanka were also present at the opening event.
Bhagat expressed his views by commenting, “The second edition of China Products show has more than doubled in size and this year CMEC from China has brought more machinery companies to participate in the event. We believe Chinese machinery would help Sri Lankan manufacturing to become more competitive and this exhibition would create a bridge between Sri Lankan and Chinese businessmen to explore trade and investment opportunities.
We believe that bilateral trade between Sri Lanka and China would be further expanded by trade events like this. This exhibition was widely supported by Sri Lankan trade bodies and also from the China side the CCPIT and Trade Development Bureau of China. I am sure this exhibition will be very welcome by the Sri Lankan community.”

Besides machinery, the exhibition also focuses on providing solutions for the tourism industry as well as Sri Lanka’s growing retail sector. The products showcased this year include bathroom accessories, household electronic appliances, construction materials, hardware and  machine tools, lighting and Led, consumer electronics, marble and  stone products, art and art supplies, agricultural and  pest control products, food products and  machinery, home appliances, hotel supplies, house-ware and  home decor, furniture and  interior products, and many more.
