Colombo City Centre announces appointment of new CEO

Colombo City Centre, the premier waterfront mixed development project in Sri Lanka, has appointed Praveen Methil as the new CEO, who holds a wealth of experience spanning 24 years in real estate development, mall management and operations, brand building and new business development and growth strategies, along with a solid track record of success in leading start-ups, turnarounds and rapidly growing companies.


A meticulous 360-degree sales and marketing and brand management practitioner, with an eye for detail and hands-on experience in drafting business plans, leasing and retail/mixed asset class development strategies, Methil has recorded year-on-year success across geographical locations as a take charge, result-oriented and effectual leader. 


He is acclaimed for positioning, launching and operating large multi-million square feet retail, hospitality, residential and commercial realties in developed as well as emerging markets. 

His strong functional expertise combined with tenacious commitment to driving top line and bottom line, has made him adept at business development, profit and loss accountability and commercial and legal management, with key focus being placed on establishing and managing independent profit centres. 


Methil’s breadth of experience covers markets across India and the Middle East and has served previously as Centre Director at Prozone Intu Properties, Coimbatore and Phoenix Market City, Chennai, Mantri Developers, Bangalore and Landmark Group, Doha, Qatar.


Armed with a Masters in Human Resources Management from Pondicherry University and a Bachelor of Hotel Management from Mangalore University, Methil has also served as an integral member of the Business Excellence Committee and launched several globally reputed retail and food and beverage brands in domestic and international markets.


Colombo City Centre comprises of 192 luxury apartments of two BR, three BR and penthouses, an international standard shopping mall and an upcoming international hotel set to open in 2021.
