The upcoming ‘Sri Lanka Investment & Business Conclave 2016,’ organized by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has seen wide interest from investors from across the globe.
Over 30 investors from countries such as, Australia, Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Germany, Georgia, Kuwait, Pakistan and Singapore have already registered to take part in the mid-March event.
The investors are keen to meet counterparts in the business areas of knowledge services, export manufacturing and services, port development, power and energy, tourism, leisure, infrastructure development, waste management and agriculture etc. The three-day forum, will be kicked-off in Colombo on the 08th March, and will enable potential overseas investors to hold B2B meetings with the Sri Lankan counterparts, meet top government ministers and officials, visit industrial zones and strategic economic locations of the country.
The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce plans to attract over 100 foreign investors to the event, in a bid to help Sri Lanka attract the much needed FDIs to the country.
The latest move by the 176-year old Chamber comes amidst heavy investments Sri Lanka has made in recent times to develop its infrastructure, such as ports, airports, road network, and telecommunication facilities etc.
