Abbotsleigh estate, situated in the Hatton region and selling under the garden mark Florence, has achieved an all-time record price of Rs.550 on two invoices of BP1 in the CTC high category at the weekly tea auction held on January 10, 2017.
These lines were purchased by George Steuarts Teas (Pvt.) Limited and Heritage Teas (Pvt.) Limited.
Abbotsleigh estate is managed by Watawala Plantations PLC and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
Delta Estate
At this week’s ex-estate tea auction held on January 10, 2017, Delta Estate, situated in Pussellawa, has established an all-time record price of Rs.540 for two invoices of BP1 in the CTC medium category.
These lines were purchased by Heritage Teas (Pvt.) Ltd and R J Tea Products (Pvt.) Ltd. The selling broker was M/s John Keells PLC. Delta Estate comes under the purview of Pussellawa Plantations Limited.
Carolina Estate
Carolina Estate, managed by Watawala Plantations PLC, established an all-time record price of Rs.530 for an invoice of medium grown CTC BPS at the Colombo tea auctions concluded on January 10, 2017. The purchase was made by Akbar Brothers Limited and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
Galpaditenne Tea Factory
Galpaditenne Tea Factory, situated in Lellopitiya, Ratnapura, established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction of January 10, 2017 by securing an attractive price of Rs.570 per kilogramme for an OF grade in the low grown CTC category.
This line was purchased by KDU Exports and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
Nildalukanda Tea Factory
Nildalukanda Tea Factory, situated in Gampola, established an all-time record price at the weekly tea auction of January 10, 2017 by securing an attractive price of Rs.510 per kilogramme for a BPS grade in the low grown CTC category.
This line was purchased by Akbar Brothers Limited and the sale was conducted by tea broker John Keells PLC.
Nildalukanda Tea Factory is managed by Walters Bay Estates (Pvt.) Limited.
Insite Tea Factory
Insite Tea Factory’s OF grade tea in the unorthodox medium grown category achieved Rs.510 per kilogramme at the auction held on January 9/10, 2017, thus establishing an all-time record price.
This was purchased by Heritage Teas (Pvt.) Ltd and the selling broker was Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC. The factory is managed by Insite Tea Factory Ltd.
