Sri Lankan-born Silicon Valley billionaire and founder of venture capital firm Social Capital, Chamath Palihapitiya met with President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at the invitation of State Defence Minister Ruwan Wijewardena. Palihapitiya was instrumental in facilitating the Google Loon project in Sri Lanka and is still working with Google to make the project a success. Digital Infrastructure Minister Harin Fernando also attended the meeting.
