The iconic Grand Oriental Hotel (GOH), which has been refurbished with an investment of Rs.250 million, will be placed under the management of Waters Edge Recreations, a subsidiary of State-owned hospitality provider, Waters Edge Limited.
The refurbishment of the GOH was carried out by Selendiva Investments Ltd., which was incorporated under the purview of the Ministry of Finance as a dedicated property development and investment arm of the government to initially revive State-owned underperforming ventures in the hospitality sector.
“GOH is the first project of Selendiva, which was completed successfully. At the cost of Rs.250 million rupees the property has been revamped,” Selendiva Investments CEO Shamahil Mohideen said.
