Just cannot understand this comedy. Why don't they sack the authors of this whole mess and go back to the old system? So damn sorry for those kids who gave it their heart and soul just so they could enter the University. Shows clearly this govt's impotence. Shame, shame and double shame!!!

This is the habit of our people. They don't event accept the Supreme Court ruling. For every thing human rights..

Things are nicely matching, as the Z-score makes blunder and nowhere near to intake the new batches, the government has to keep the Universities closed until/unless Z-score blunder is resolved.
The university DONS just playing according to the government need keeping the universities closed.

No point in going to HRC. My daughter left the shores of SL with such hurt courtesy of Govt Authority. I only wish these children no heartaches any more than they already have suffered. And to think we have 03 Ministers to the subject of Education. I wonder if Grero's school allows children to sit the local A/Ls? If they do, hasn't anyone been affected by this comedy of errors?

The time up with A Level and few days to go why not try Duck worth-Lewis Method with SB and Bandula as umpires and our President as Referee

Nutties cannot handle the Z-Score affair. Both the crackos (SB & Bandula) should resign their positions and get back to the field to cultivate.

Until a fair ruling is given - the Govt. cannot run away for this issue.

MR it seems this is the down fall of your regeime. Better sack both Ministers before the entire Student Force come to the streets, not a joke.
Azmi Wednesday, 01 August 2012 08:19 AM
Forget about political drama, give the better fair salutation to student....

you should understand what the children must have gone through. only the people who sat for ALs know how hard it is. i mean with all the pressure and stuff.

The Supreme Court has given a ruling to rectify the error in the z-score calculation. So, UGC has to go by that ruling and put out the cut off marks.

The UGC should pay to admit most of the extra 3000 students to private universities in Sri Lanka!
Most of the students who graduate from such private universities end up with excellent practical skills, good employment prospects and with opportunities for higher education abroad. It would be a great opportunity for them to receive a high quality education!
Also, it would "solve" the problem of university students striking and demonstrating against the establishment of competitive private universities in the country.
