The Meteorological Department today announced that the prevailing windy weather condition will gradually reduce from tomorrow onwards.
A Meteorological Department official however said that showers will occur in the Sabaragamuwa, Western, Southern and Central provinces as well as in Puttlam and Kurunegala districts.
Moreover, the official said the prevalent windy conditions will continue over Sri Lanka and the neighboring sea areas today and added the deep and shallow sea areas off the coast extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Colombo and Jaffna to Trincomalee, will not be suitable for fishing as the seas will be rough and dangerous with strong southwesterly winds up to 60-70kmp/hr. (LP)
These reports, whether adverse or not, should be the norm of the Met Department and they should be published and disseminated several times per day.
