The Special Task Force (STF) found a 2.5 Kg pressure mine along with 124 electrical detonators, 8,200 rounds of ammunition used for T-56 guns, 3,000 rounds of ammunition used for Multi Purpose Machine Guns (MPMG), 23 motor shells and 5 rounds of shells used for rocket propelling grenades during a search operation in Kilinochchi, police today said.
The weapons were found hidden in a well in Paranthan, Kilinochchi and have been handed over to the Kilinochchi police.
Police Spokesman Prishantha Jayakody said that further investigations were being conducted by the Kilinochchi police and that there were no suspects so far.

Whever some arms cache is found - planted or otherwise - that is given wide publicity but so far, the government is quiet on the gold and cash found from LTTE hide-outs. Can someone account for those too?
