18-hours water cut in Colombo

Several areas in Colombo will experience an 18-hour water cut from 10am today due to an urgent repair in the EliHouse water distribution pump, the National Water Supply and Drainage Board said today.

Among the areas that will be affected are Colombo Fort, Mattakkuliya, Kotahena, Modera, Aluth Mawatha, Grandpass, Crow Island, George R. de Silva Mawatha, Bandaranaike Mawatha and Ginthupitiya. (Sanath Desmond)

    I am glad the residents of Colombo were given prior notice so they can fill up on their water supply.

    But this incident alone is reason enough for every building and residence to have a water catchment system.
