UNP to consult Dangerous Drugs Control Board before nominations

The United National party (UNP) said today it would request for a detail report from the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) about those who involved in drugs, ethanol or any other illegal business before finalizing nominations.

Buddha Sasana, Public Administration, Democratic Governance Minister Karu Jayasuriya said steps would be taken to cancel nominations of candidates if their allegations were proved even after giving nominations to them.

Minister Jayasuriya was appointed to lead the election campaign of the UNP.

    How about bribe taking and other corrupt activities. Have you asked for a report from relevant authorities. Every cent taken as bribe and commission, we the public are paying back as taxes.

    If MS is standing by the principles and not opportunities to retain power then providing any form of endorsements to a suspected hora is not worthy to be called a leader. It is a sad state of affairs in Sri Lanka, full of corrupt politicians extending to the judiciary,law enforcement and even religious bodies.
