The United Nations is yet to give a definitive confirmation on the location of the meeting between the UN Secretary General’s Expert Panel on Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka’s LLRC; whether the meeting is to be held in Sri Lanka or outside is yet unclear.

In an interview with the BBC's Sinhala service, a spokesman, for the UN secretary general, Farhan Haq said a team would meet members of the government's own commission of inquiry, but he said he wasn't sure where.

However, the UN spokesman refused to confirm or deny a visit to Sri Lanka. “We can’t confirm if the panel will travel to Sri Lanka or will meet the LLRC in some other location”, Farhan Haq said.

Meanwhile, during the daily media briefing at UN Haq said that the submission to the panel has been extended to the end of this year from the previous deadline of mid-December.

“As the Secretary-General made clear, he would review whatever the panel gives him and then decide at that point about making anything public.  Regarding the extension, yes, I believe the (period of) the submission to the panel has been extended to the end of this year, from the previous deadline of mid-December.

Better not to come to Colombo. Otherwise Mr. Moon himself may have to be flown down to offer a glass of water to the fasting fanatic.
