Как это ни печально узнать, что случилось с моим землякам в глупое Шри-Ланке.
    Шри-Ланка ужасное место.

What were the lifeguards were doing - eating rolls and sipping a plain tea is it ?

This is mere carelessness from the Hotel Management and the life guards. If the danger is seen , they should have stopped those people going into the sea. They are responsible for the valuable lives of these tourists. They come out with all their silly explanations after the damaged is done. No backbone or real understanding of human values of these so called Hotel management. We are so sorry for this human tragedy whch was able to avoid.

Within a span of about 10 days this is the third such death of a Russian national.Again as was in the first incident a few days ago WAS THE "WARNING" NOT TO VENTURE OUT TO THE SEA COMMUNICATED IN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE??The "warning" given by lifeguards may not have been understood at all.The Tourism Authority should take initiativ in broadbasing such communication.

Hi Senna, Understood your concern and really sad about the lost lives but no point of blaming Hotel management or Life Guards because once they have told repeatedly victims should listen to them and understand the risk they cannot hold the matured people like babies or small kids. Every person who is going to deal with sea they all should understand the risk even though they are good swimmers. If you have personal concern about hotel deal with them personally rather than shouting in public without knowing real situation. This is only exposing your education level to the public.

I was 3 hotels away and witnessed the latter part of this incident of these tourists being rescued. What I witnessed: The sea looked terrible and no one else was in the sea but these 3 tourists. The hotel I was at, had red flags marked out but not the hotel these tourists were staying at and their beach front. I believe they were rescued by lifeguards from surrounding hotels who had to run quite a distance to a distress call which added to the delay.

    KP Tuesday, 21 August 2012 08:01 AM

Most of Russians who is traveling to Sri Lanka do not speak English, may be they did not understand the warnings from hotel management.
