Two injured in police firing

Two people were injured when Police opened fire on a three-wheeler which had sped away defying police orders in Wadduwa on the Galle Road last night, police said.

Police had signalled the three-wheeler to stop at Kalutara North but it had sped away defying police orders. The police had given chase to it and opened fire.

The injured were admitted to the Nagoda Hospital.

Police said two people who were in the three-wheeler had escaped after the incident. (Siri Mahabellana)

    I witnessed a similar chase by Peliyagoda police around 5 pm but they caught the three wheeler after about 15 minutes good chase. It was a great job by two Traffic policeman.

    Now the police are given fire arms, they will shoot at marathon runners, cycle recers and everybody...... wear a bullet proof jacket, everytime you go pass by a policeman.
