They had threatened to kill him if Rs.1 million was not paid to them. The two suspects had threatened him a number of times over the phone, police media spokesman Ajith Rohana said.
The suspects who are believed to be members of an underworld gang were arrested by the police as they were on the run after several police teams were deployed to arrest the two men.
After a few days the victim lodged a complaint with the CCD over the threats he is receiving daily. With the assistance and the advice of the CCD the stage was set to arrest the suspects immediately by a special police team.
