Pillayan removes official

Trincomalee Urban Council (UC) Chairman Mr. S. Gauwri Muhandan has been removed from his post with immediate effect by the Chief Minister of the Eastern Provincial Council, S. Chandrakanthan alias Pillayan pending fraud investigations.

When contacted the Urban Council Chairman stated that he has been informed of his removal, but there was no truth to the fraud allegations and that he will take this matter to court. (Daily Mirror online)

Well done! Corrupt officials need to be removed, but only after investigation and found guilty. Otherwise we are producing mini dictators.
