Dhammika Ranasighe, husband of Olympic Silver medalist Susanthika Jayasighe, was released on personal bail of Rs. 50,000 and cash bail of Rs.5000 after he appeared before the Horana Magistrate in relation to a family dispute this afternoon.
According to the police Dhammika had come to the Horana Magistrate with his lawyer. Susanthika Jayasinghe has also lodged a complaint this morning with the Police Women and Child’s Bureau, police source said.
Her husband was requested to appear in Court on May 10th. He was also ordered not to enter the living area of the house shared by the couple.
Horana Chief Magistrate Mahinda Prasad Ranasignhe also directed Dhammika to present himself at the Bandaragama police station between 9am and 12 noon on the last Sunday of each month. (Supun Dias & Buddika Kumarasiri)

There's nothing wrong with going to courts when a man hits or abuses a woman. Harassment being "Internal Affairs" is the biggest evil of all.
