Don't trust either party. Definitely something fishy going on which will be mutually beneficial only to them and not those they claim to represent.

In India even with 2 percent of the population Sikhs could become a President or a Prime Minister or a Muslim or a Tamil could become a President or a powerful Minisiter. Not so in Sri Lanka. Even though there are a good number of Tamils in Central Province or Western Province it is not possible to become the Chief Minister or even a Minister. This is because the culture in SL is not meritocratic. Eastern Province with its predominantly Tamil speaking population (and Tamil population until D.S.Senanayake started the state sponsored colonisation of Sinhala people) should be entitled to have a Tamil or Tamil speaking Muslim in order to be able to defend their rights, This they should be able to do in whatever formation they can, if there is even a semblene of democracy in SL

Is anything wrong in working together. It is good to see an opposition coming to power so that the Nation could see what all these provincial system is? Until now all these provincial governments were from ruling party.

The TNA and the SLMC working together will go a long way in erasing off the misunderstanding existing between the two communities, and a joint administration of the EPC by the TNA and SLMC, together with the clear policies of the TNA and its efficient and un-corrupt politicians will set an example of good governance to the whole country.

You have a point. A tamil and muslim should be give the two slots PM & Speaker alternatively and make this country a truly multi-ethnic one.
