The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) says it is ready to hold to talks with re-elected President Mahinda Rajapaksa if he puts forward an invitation.
Speaking to Daily Mirror online TNA MP Suresh Premachandran said that the party would be prepared to discuss issues of genuine concern to the tamil citizenry should they be given a chance to do so. (RR)

Who are these TNA ?
Comprising Sampanthan, Senathirajah and another...
Are the others too in it?
if not, what is there to discuss.
Even the Harrow Councillor Thaya Iddikaddar is not in favor of the TNA these days.

This is a good move! All Sri Lankans should change their mind-set, to accept all nationalities and live with one another, as one country!
Monday, 01 February 2010 08:57 PM
I'd like to see the response of 'Wanawansa'!
Monday, 01 February 2010 08:26 PM
The TNA has now decided to do a 'U-turn' and run to MR! How can this bunch of jokers either lead or represent the Tamils?
Monday, 01 February 2010 08:11 PM
Who knows, next the parties of both Douglas Devananda and Sambanthan, might be seen doing a 'waltz' together?
Monday, 01 February 2010 07:36 PM
TNA parliamentarians were elected with the blessings of the LTTE. Now, they have to face reality. The Tamil people will elect their true representatives, to the next parliament. So, these 'old foxes' will lose!
Monday, 01 February 2010 07:27 PM
Tamils are not beggars! But, the TNA are beggars!
Monday, 01 February 2010 06:46 PM
How about equal rights for them?
Monday, 01 February 2010 06:08 PM
The world knows the TNA betrayals!
Monday, 01 February 2010 05:55 PM
Beware Mr. President, this may be another election 'gundoo'! Don't get caurght!
Monday, 01 February 2010 05:13 PM
TNA is formed by LTTE. LTTE is no more. Then who are TNA to discuss? They are bunch of jokers.
Monday, 01 February 2010 02:52 PM
yes but its not only made by the Tamil politicians, the Sinhala politicians have played their part too. so much so if you read some of the comments posted by the so called educated tamils and Sinhalease you see how frequently racist comments are made.
Monday, 01 February 2010 01:24 PM
Yes , should discuss but after the general elections. TNA misled Tamil people on recently concluded presidential elections & we have to wait for the outcome of general election to see if there will be any change of attitude to discuss with fresh mandate.
Monday, 01 February 2010 01:21 PM
Tamil Eelam by hook or crook. Through SF or MR. They have not changed, still asking for the same pound of flesh.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:59 PM
TNA! Poor General lost because of you. Now are you crawling on your belly to MR?
Monday, 01 February 2010 08:33 AM
Yes, its a good move. But ,to discuss the genuine concerns? Like what? Eelam? Come to terms with whats happening TNA. Don't push the moderate tamils (Not Racists) in to misery again. We have to develop as one nation.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:53 PM
Yes , you have to do something for the people who voted for you
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:53 PM
There are sufficient mechanisms in place to discuss such issues without the need to go through the TNA.
The TNA is redundant.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:35 PM
Before giving TNA a platform to exploit, their constitution has to be checked to see how, among other things, the officers are elected and how they are funded. Just as I believe the SLMC does not represent all Muslims, the TNA does not represent all Tamils.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:33 PM
Don't talk rubish thinking you are smart. Genunie concerns means resettlement, rerehabilitation and development.. Do you thing that our President and the TNA MPs are fools to talk about the untakable?
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:24 PM
Another agreement for the next election ?.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:14 PM
The TNA got well and truly licked in the Presidential Election. The Sampanthans of the Tamil Community should learn to give up. But these are people who have made a life long career by creating misery and by pitching one against the other. They thrive by that. But do the tamils realize that. I do not think so. All the so called sufferings of the tamils are man made to suit a few extremist tamil politicians.
Monday, 01 February 2010 12:07 PM
it's already a two different nations ( Sinhala speaking & Tamil speaking) no one say there is only a one nation, but can be live under one country if all of us ready to share the equality (rights) among humans who born and living in this piece of land.
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:59 AM
Excellent Idea, Please TNA, go that extra mile to meet The President and be flexible. You need to help the next generation of SriLankans. Together we can make SriLanka a pradise. Please do before the General Election.
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:55 AM
ok, give up your five conditions on tamil eelam and come forward to build the country. Otherwise get lost. GOSL has enough people to get 2/3.
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:44 AM
maybe the president should wait till the parliamentary elections are over, and start whatever the discussions with the newly elected MPs from north.
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:41 AM
It is a good move in the right direction for national reconciliation communal harmony.
We all need peace to dawn in our country which is still not there for our bad luck.
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:27 AM
TNA will be called patriots now...
Monday, 01 February 2010 11:24 AM
Though late, decision is welcome.
