A former LTTE captain, who was injured in the final battle at Vellumulaivaikal, has been arrested in Mount Lavinia while preparing to leave for India, the police said today.

According to the police the suspect, identified as Sridaran Aynkaran, had been hospitalized after sustaining injuries last year but had escaped and was preparing to leave for India when he was arrested.

Following investigations the police also recovered a large stock of weapons, explosives and ammunition which belonged to the former Tiger captain.

You people are so ungrateful to your government yaar. We also criticise our government when they do wrong. But, we praise them for their achievements. Prabhakaran was right when he said that Sri Lankan memories were very short. Now even when the government captures LTTE people, you criticise them! What is your logic?

With whose help did he managed to live in Mt.Lavinia for so long ? Where did his income came from ? Who were his contacts in the area ? Who rented the house ? This is why we need to be vigilent and continue to have legal precautions in place for sometime. This may not be an isolated case. The arsenal in his possession could have caused carnage.

People who gave him shelter should be arrested.Their assets should be accuired to state. They should be severely delt with.A high hand of the area or government should be behind this for sure.

If this had happened shortly before an election, some of us would have called it a 'chande gundu.' But now, what to say?
