Atleast this poor British national seems to realize that the Sri Lanka Rupee is worth more than the British Pound. We Sri Lankans should be very proud that our money is very much in demand now and let him off without any charges. He was only trying to make a fast buck.

Andrew Pitugala Tuesday, 02 October 2012 03:41 AM

Good show. Let us arrest all others who are involved in the ticket racket.

#Lanka Lion - Sydney: You are talking poppycock. Today, One British pound = S/L Rupees 208.51. So how could the miserable Rupee be worth more than the British Pound? In any case the S/L Rupee is not a negotiable currency such as the US dollar, British pound, the German Deutsche Mark. EU/Euro, Japanse Yen etc. Outside of S/L no one will negotiate S/L Rupees. The S/L Rupee has been losing value over the decades. When we got independence One Pound sterling = S/L Rs. 10/-. No go figure.
