Speaking to the Daily Mirror after his vehicle met with an accident in Pitakotte Ven. Maduluwawe Sobhitha thera, Chief Incumbent of Kotte Sri Nagaviharaya, stated that he suspected foul play.

The Chief Incumbent explained that a small white van had been parked outside the temple from 11 this morning and the incident was intended to delay him attending the Adhishtana Pooja at Sri Dalada Maligawa this afternoon in support of the release of former Army Commander Sarath Fonseka.

“This was most clearly an attempt to delay this afternoons proceedings. Although we saw the van parked outside the Temple, we were unsuspicious of it. But now in hindsight it is clear that the vehicle was there to cause some harm,” he said.

Ven. Sobhitha thera informed the Daily Mirror that there would be a delay in his attendance at the Pooja, however he would still be present. “There will be a delay, because I had to go to the Police and lodge a complaint but I will be there soon enough and nothing can deter me from my plans,” he said. looks like you forgot the daladamaligawa incedent and the fort railway sattion fast, where police interfered with the monks practcing there releigion. the monks did not have the freedom to protest as theye were labled disturbing the peace, but wimal w protests in from of UN and causes havoc but is later visited by the president.
