A network providing fake passports and documents to the LTTE have been arrested in connection with providing fake European passports to other militant groups.

Nearly 10 people have been arrested in separate raids in Spain and Thailand on suspicion of providing passports to al-Qaeda.

Barcelona police arrested seven people, including a Nigerian and six Pakistani nationals, while Bangkok police arrested two more Pakistanis and a Thai in the Southeast Asian nation.

Spanish Interior Ministry’s official confirmed about the arrest of 42-year-old named Muhammad Athar Butt, who was operating from Thailand, Brussels and London simultaneously.

The police finally got a little success following nearly two years of international investigation. They believe network’s links with Pakistan-based terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out attack in Mumbai in November 2008 – an incident, which killed 163 people mostly foreigners.
