The Teacher-Principal Trade Unions Joint Committee while urging the government to look into the killing of a 17 year-old schoolboy during Thursday’s protest in Rathupaswala, Weliweriya, said the government should take the responsibility for the incident.

Issuing a media release the union protested over getting the armed forces to attack and kill a schoolboy while injuring unarmed civilians who were protesting for a basic human need.

It further expressed its displeasure about the government’s approach towards the issue.
