A Swiss national married to a Tamil man was found hanging on a rope this morning after allegedly committing suicide in Jaffna. She had reportedly hanged herself last night and her body was discovered together with a note this morning.
The Swiss lady, identified as Rita Merlin Sinks (62), had come to Jaffna with the Tamil man recently from her native country and was believed to be mentally deranged at the time of her death.
Investigations into her death are now underway. The motive behind her death is not known but is believed to be personal. (Daily Mirror online)
