A 16 year old Student of Dharmaraja College Kandy was shot dead by an unidentified gang last night. According to the police the victim was shot in Gurudeniya Kandy. The shooting was due to chaos that prevailed in the area last night. (J. A. L. Jayasinghe)

    1. Two men on a motorcycle make a wrong turn into the area looking for a non-existent address. They visit several houses, then leave.
    2. Word gets around about the 2 men. Within a short time the 2 men are described as " horu ". The time is around 6pm.
    3. Residents begin a search of the area. One of them is armed and drunk.
    4. The schoolboy makes his way up the hill from his home. In the darkness he is challenged. He identifies himself but is shot.
