Strong weather to continue

The Meteorological Department today said a showery weather can be expected over the country during next few days with heavy rainfalls of more than 150 mm.

It said lightning can also be expected in land and suburban sea areas during next few days.

“There will be showers or thundershowers in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces.Thundershowers will develop in most places during the afternoon or night” the Department said.

It further said there is a chance of the speed of north eastern wind increasing up to 80kmph at times off the coast extending from Galle to Jaffna via Batticaloa. (LSP)
