Police do not record most cases, specialy theft, saying, " If you cannot name any suspect, how can we do the investigation". This is the real situation in the ground. I guess not lesser crimes on books.

stats may also show there is no white van abduction or girls being raped in Sri Lanka though media and most people might not agree with it. when we look at the data, we need to analyze the source of the data in order to evaluate its validity.
