A group of Sri Lankan tourists was attacked by three unidentified persons at Central railway station on Monday. The incident happened when the 16 tourists alighted from Tamil Nadu Express that reached the city from New Delhi.
Nobody was injured though two Sri Lankans were targeted. Sources said that the attackers fled after the assault.
"A video footage is available but it may be difficult to trace them because the men were wearing caps," said a railway police official. (Source: Times of India) ► WATCH

Foolish behavior,,, this is what happening in this world. people are being killed and hurt by some other people where attacker and victims have no relevance,,, but the actual culprits live freely and time to time making some statements. Yes, we can suspend the travels to TN.... but thing about what other religious people do if things are not going well here... suspend what ? suspend religion ?
Sam Monday, 18 March 2013 11:16 AM
Why don't the gov impose a travel ban and get every Sri Lankan back from India. It's not like we are going to die because we can't go to India. Let's stop this nonsense and refrain from flying to India. Let them lose their tourism, who cares.
colin Monday, 18 March 2013 11:16 AM
It is sad in the land of the Buddha such acts take place,It is the duty of the TN police to protect them especially if they are neligious dignitaries. This should be condemned by all and there must be a cry to stop these dastardly acts
kay parker Monday, 18 March 2013 11:23 AM
They have no backing in India. Only in Sri Lanka the government will back them
Fusion Monday, 18 March 2013 11:18 AM
Keep this up and TN politicos will only make huge fools of themselves (well they already have I guess). Sadly, these incidents distract people from the real issues faced by Tamils in SL. Oh, the irony...

This is appalling. I felt very humiliated watching this innocent monk who didn’t react in anyway. We issue over the counter visa for Indians & welcome them. They in return attack our monks, our people, they fish illegally in our seas destroying our sea bed and will vote against us at the UNHCR. Are we this weak? Don’t we have self respect? Can we just ask them to get lost? They have never been a friendly nation to us.

True colours of LTTE sympathizers... They are mentally ill as their leaders.
Ajith Monday, 18 March 2013 11:26 AM
At least India responses to these attacks.. They have arrested earlier the person who attacked the monk in Trichy, and when ever there is a problem, Police has tried to take action.. Is this happening in SL...? When Kovil and Mosques attacked in Dambulla, was anyone arrested..?

Tamils of LTTE?
Virendra Tuesday, 19 March 2013 04:06 PM
Let me use the phrase used by most Lankan top brass - this video is fake. It must be the LTTE cadre who are the culprits.

I hate this.. we never support this.. :((
ajj Monday, 18 March 2013 09:13 AM
Feel very sorry and sad. as a Tamils i never support this. i can understand TN tamils feel.but this is not good. attacking innocents is cant acceptable. This type of attacking coming more bs of govt. still not investigation for war crimes.. racism against Tamils, no political solution. so govt should act and find a solution here 1st so all the problem will solve.
rmfer86 Monday, 18 March 2013 09:19 AM
Cant believe that the government is still on the stand that it 'might' issue a travel warning.. Seriously people, use your brains and stop going there. Uneducated fools. I mean the Indians. It could apply to a few parties though.
mohamed Monday, 18 March 2013 09:14 AM
This is not correct, as humans it such a shame that there is no security for a religious preacher in India. Is this how Indians treat people? Have they forgotten than Indians are living in SL?
Trehan Munasinghe Monday, 18 March 2013 09:20 AM
WHY on earth are you visiting this dump ??? stay in Sri Lanka without going there , for GOD sake before they kill you next time..

Now India has to answer for these. Otherwise they have to face the consequences. It's very heartening. Feel sorry. Why do we going to this SHIT country at first place. Where is HR protectors ??
Saskia Monday, 18 March 2013 09:26 AM
I strongly condemn this kind of attack against non-political and non-armed force Sri Lankans. These people are ordinary citizens and we should not attack them. I think this is the reprisal of the attack against Indian fishermen by SL navy. Until the attack by SL navy stops, this kind of attack is inevitable.
Fathima Monday, 18 March 2013 09:26 AM
Attacking a representative of any religion is wrong and this act must be resolved immediately. At the same time one has to remember, when it hurts to see a Buddhist monk being attacked in India,, it kills to see muslims and mosques being insulted in the very country we were born in.
Laminate Monday, 18 March 2013 09:21 AM
I feel sorry for the Monk, sad incident.....
mail_guy Monday, 18 March 2013 09:27 AM
These Sri Lankans know very well about TN people. Therefore that monk is the one to be blamed not them.
rmfer86 Monday, 18 March 2013 09:22 AM
That video is shocking. That man attacked a monk ( who did not raise an arm to fight back), and a group of older tourists visiting his country.. The shame his country should feel.
Tangent Monday, 18 March 2013 09:15 AM
You reap what you sow. Sad but seeing a boy being shot for no fault of his make sentiment rise. The Sri Lanka government has to take full responsibility for the current situation. Why has the Sri Lanka government summoned the Indian ambassador and shown its displeasure. They are still hoping for Indian support at the UNHRC sessions. Pathetic.
surain Monday, 18 March 2013 09:25 AM
this is horrible these thaminadu fellows behave like animals. hitting innocent monk is a disgraceful act and a shame on your country.
Fazli Monday, 18 March 2013 09:48 AM
For the time being suspend all future travels to TN or choose a different destination. You keep attacking and I keep visiting is no common sense.
Inaz Monday, 18 March 2013 09:43 AM
Bro not everyone welcomes the government action. What did this monk do for a bunch idiot to treat him like that. By the way I am not a budhist.
PRASANNAJIT Monday, 18 March 2013 09:43 AM
It is really sad. This got aggravated with the visit of MR to Thirupathi. TN people got really worked up due to that. When bigwigs come they come with heavy security and nothing happens. These are innocents who have to suffer.

Tamilan Monday, 18 March 2013 10:47 AM
Hurting innocent piople does not solve anything. Not all the tamil nadu people back these kind of acts. This is a work of LTTE backed groups in tamil nadu. They are not interseted in supporting tamils in Sri lanka they only interested in Euros and Swiss Francs. The central government should take severe actions against these thugs before it is too late.

Tamils of LTTE and Tamil Nadu seem to be provoking Singhalese to react. It is a bait, we must be careful.
Gamini Monday, 18 March 2013 11:02 AM
It is a display of true nature of the uncivilised two legged dogs. India must take action with an example to the rest in keeping with the protocols with foreign governments which they have accepted to follow.
