your comment shows your knowladge about cricket.....its always better to keep your mouth shut than talking about things you dont know....

    Ramdas Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:27 PM

The match was just given away. Not for ill gotton money but for the urge of the players to wind up early to go galavanting into the night

    shane Sunday, 07 November 2010 10:13 PM

1 st match - Luck of Malinga and Mathews
2nd Match - Rain helped SL team
3nd Match - No luck and No rain

    Sharma Monday, 08 November 2010 01:28 AM

Why do they keep playing Chamara Silva. He never clicked when the top order collapsed. This series is a solid example.

    Ajith Monday, 08 November 2010 02:12 AM

SL wont the series by their mere luck and not by their talent. Luck happens one in a while only!

Shivanka David Monday, 08 November 2010 02:51 AM

Where are the so called Lions ???

    jen Monday, 08 November 2010 02:51 AM

very true.... this is not the first time... to much confidence is also not very good…

Knight Rider Monday, 08 November 2010 02:53 AM

it was so predictable. Miracles dont come cheap always.

    LJaya Monday, 08 November 2010 03:09 AM

    100% correct

    Indi Monday, 08 November 2010 03:35 AM

Nothing more than bouncy wicket ...No need to argue , Our guys will perform well at subcontinent WC.

ground boy Monday, 08 November 2010 04:27 AM

Luck is a must to win. This inaugural series win in kiwi land for those who wish to see late order batsmen firing.

    Galibba Sunday, 07 November 2010 05:21 PM

we don't have a super side to beat a good team. If lady luck favors us on that day,we could beat any team.we need to strengthen our team.

    sujith Monday, 08 November 2010 05:22 AM

Yes That's right. We had only 3 wickets when rin stoped pur innings. If we had lost more wickets Australian target would have been favoured them.

    ashanthi Monday, 08 November 2010 05:48 AM

    bad luck,,,why haven't a given a chance to Chandimal,,,,

    TMA Monday, 08 November 2010 06:12 AM

Unbeleivable ain't it? All the matches were played with greatness. And the last match lost drastically. Almost like the match was fixed

    Anver Monday, 08 November 2010 07:40 AM

    WAS IT MATCH FIXING?

lanka puta Monday, 08 November 2010 09:49 AM

must tie the players to trees.

    nilanka Monday, 08 November 2010 10:22 AM

if Sri lanka win the match, you ppl say its a TALENT/professionalism. if they loss one game you ppl say BAD LUCK????

    ha ha ha ha..

    nilanka Monday, 08 November 2010 10:32 AM

    Very True.

    rishikesh Monday, 08 November 2010 02:20 PM

EVEN THOUGH WE LOSE , WE ARE BETTER TEAM........SANGA.

    weha Monday, 08 November 2010 04:15 PM

Well luck is there only to assist. but if they keep playing like the way they did today wonder if any luck would help.we just made a laughing stock out of ourselves today.

    zulu Sunday, 07 November 2010 11:00 AM

This goes to the difference between professionalism and a sudden spur of the moment. We are good talented side, but we do not know how to keep our heads strong when we need to keep them the most.

While crediting the series win to our boys,,,,, it sad to note that we have not matured a bit after the few wins in this series,,,,, People with good cricketing knowledge will understand what I mean after today's perfromance.

    praveen Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:04 AM

great series win...but the batting crumbled twice in 3 matches.too inconsistent.and mahela seems to be the lukiest sri lankan batsman ever in odi's.never consistent but never threatened for his place.well done.but the batting seems a big worry

    Raja Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:05 AM

It is a part of the Game. All the credits to our boys for winning the series. Best wishes for world cup and future series .

    weha Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:06 AM

lack of professionalism. winning a series does not mean you can throw the other match away. pretty pathetic.

TERRENCE B. DE SILVA Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:11 AM

"MAN OH MAN A VICTORY FOR AUSTRALIA MINUS CAPT. PONTING."

Ruhunu Puthra Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:18 AM

Who is this guy JEEWAN MENDIS is he picked based on his cricketing skills or the school attended(with all due respect to the school) & affiliations? He was pathetic in all departments.

    Ravy Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:18 AM

Never mind. Job well done by Kumar, Mahela, Aravinda, Trevour and the rest. Historic series win down under. Fine send off for Murali. Good luck against the Windies.

    meranchi Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:21 AM

'[BATTERED WELL'] senior player not taking matter seriously who will do the rest,,,,,

    cricketlovercket Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:24 AM

wow good performance by Sri Lankan all played well ( support of rain and drop catch ) in this series good average ( Under 32 all batsmen except Tharanga ( Tharanga saved by rain - and Mathews ) good congrats boys play like this in all WC Matches. I thought match will finished in dilhara Over ( he can bowl 100 bowls in single over with aid of no balls )

Local Guy Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:51 AM

We lack consistency, this is one good example, Loosing is O.K, but, not this way!..

    Raja Sunday, 07 November 2010 09:52 AM

You cannot call it lack of professionalism. You can just say lack of luck that you sometime need to encounter situation. of this nature. Truly, you should appreciate the series win..

    immysl Sunday, 07 November 2010 08:56 AM

Sorry to say this, but it was a pathetic display put on by our players today. The last few matches we did play really well. But this was totally unexpected.

Anyway, maybe it's for the team's own good, because this loss exposed a lot of faults. So hopefully our team will be able to correct them before the world cup and get everything right in the big occasion.

    Siri Sunday, 07 November 2010 11:13 AM

    Very true!

    demon Sunday, 07 November 2010 11:16 AM

ha ha remember they just won two matches...and by luck...there's nothing special in lankan new team...

    Josh Sunday, 07 November 2010 11:40 AM

well i think the sri lankan team felt sorry for the ausies so they gave them a consolation win!!!

    gayan Sunday, 07 November 2010 12:01 PM

sanga and boys...congratz for series win ...but it was lazy playing game today.....

    Crishantha Sunday, 07 November 2010 01:03 PM

Congratulations to the SL team! Today was just a off day. But hats off to the team winning the first ever Aus series.

    polkiccha Sunday, 07 November 2010 01:03 PM

Can you elaborate why you put it down as luck? Nothing special in the new team? think of the early 2000's would that team recoverd from 107/8?

    polkiccha Sunday, 07 November 2010 01:07 PM

do you think if it didnt rain SL would lose?. Those who credit duck worth lewis method favoured SL are obviously too ignorant to know the real reason why D/L was introdcued.

    hasha Sunday, 07 November 2010 02:17 PM

anyways there is a lack of professionalism usually in anything S L

    MagodisThuma Sunday, 07 November 2010 03:46 PM

Murali should understand now he is not fit enough for the world cup !.

    peter Sunday, 07 November 2010 05:15 PM

    THIRD TIME UNLUCKY
