Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage informed Parliament a short while ago that staff on contract basis at the Sri Lanka Cricket is to be cut by 60 percent soon. He said that the decision has been taken due to overstaff of staff on contract basis.

How about canceling the contract with CSN for the 3 year period and call for re bids. Then you could save majority of innocent people who would loase their jobs due to this act.

You are making unemployment on the increase. This is against Labour Law and so called representatives in the legislature violating their own legislation because Labour Law does'nt mind whether the employment is contract, causal or regular. Any unjustifiable termination will be inquired into by Labour Tribunal if an application is made. or else pay some compensation for these people.

Dear Minister, Please do consider a cut on the number of contracted players also, atleast introduce some qualifying criteria for contracts with the SLC.

Please say how many staff are there at present and how many are going to be reduced... When you say 60%, nobody knows how many will be reduced or how many are there....
