The son of a Deputy Minister was taken into custody by the police for allegedly assaulting two supporters of a UPFA candidate contesting for the upcoming Local Government Elections in the Tisawewa area while they were pasting posters.

He was arrested by a special team and was produced before the Anuradhapura Magistrate. The suspect is also a former Pradeshiya Sabha member. (AB)
