SLMC to contest under UPFA banner

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress has decided to contest the forthcoming Provincial Council election under the UPFA banner, the Government Information Department announced today.

The party’s high command which met last evening has taken this decision after several hours of discussions among the senior party officials.

Meanwhile, SLMC leader Rauff Hakeem had met President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Wednesday and had submitted several conditions of the SLMC in order to contest at the election under the UPFA banner.

Riya, I am having completely an opposite view. I like Hakim, he is an intelligent, Educated (fluent in all three languages) Rich guy (who snit a rogue) but he made a wrong decision here. This regime is falling apart, this regime is not solving problems among communities instead its deepening hatred among people. Hakim should have supported UNP (or even JVP, i dont mind) after all SLMC is not SL Muslims voice.

Good decision. If they contest separately, the CM post will go to TNA which is poisonous for Muslims. Any way, pillayan is far less harmful than any TNA person. Good decision by SLMC. Though I don't like Hakeem

As some critics discussed about the sudden change of hakeem's jump over government custody is in purpose of giving and settling a pure humanity life in eastern province. this is a great move by leader.
