Would have been nice to mention that this report is covering the time that MR was president. Lets face it, the situation looks much better now. Websites are unblocked. Journalists in exile are returning.

In SL most of journo are not reporting the incident but telling the stories with inclusion of their view. But the thing is those victims does not come out with protest. Usually my comments does not publish in DM as those are against to their view and wish. via DM Android App

IN SRI LANKA, MUCH HAS IMPROVED FOR JOURNALISTS AND ALSO FOR ORDINARY CITIZENS WHO CRITICIZE THE GOVT. THERE IS A FEELING OF FREEDOM IN THE AIR FOR EVERY CITIZEN. THE COUNTRY IS ON THE CORRECT PATH TO FULL DEMOCRACY! WHAT YOU MENTION IN THE REPORT WAS DURING THE TIME OF THE FORMER REGIME UNDER THE RAJAPAKSA FAMILY RULE.
